A call for help at midday and a workable solution by 3pm: a 132 mm bit and extension bits, on a site that could not wait.
The call came in at midday. It was a please help call, the kind where somebody is standing on a site with a problem and no way through it, and the day is already half gone.
We had a workable solution by 3pm and the hole was drilled that afternoon. The job meant sending a 132 mm core bit to a depth of 1350 mm, a metre and a third down, with extension bits.
Core work typically runs to 400 mm deep. Past that, extension bits take the hole deeper.
