Control joints cut the day the slab goes down, before it starts shrinking. House pads, driveways, sheds and commercial floors.

Expansion cuts, rebates and deep cuts in hardened slabs and hardstands, to 340 mm total depth. Indoors with dust extraction.

A narrow slice cut and the concrete removed, to form a trench for services. Floors and walls, drains, ducts, conduit and cable.

Planned asphalt service cutting for trenches, service runs and potholes, set out from plans or marked on site.

A new attic window and lintel slot cut through 400 mm thick heritage stone, with the interior protected from water and debris throughout.

Direct Concrete is a concrete cutting, core drilling and line pumping company based in Timaru. It is owned by Matt Reweti, a qualified carpenter who built the business.
We work for builders, concreters, civil contractors and homeowners, and our work has gone into factories, schools and civil work across South Canterbury. At a house it is speed and quality; on a commercial site it is compliance first, then quality, then speed.

What project managers ask us first
Can you work through our prequalification system?
Yes. We work through whichever prequalification or approved subcontractor system you run, and we send our health and safety documents through before we come to site. Ask early and the paperwork is done before the day is booked.
How deep can you cut?
Floor and slab sawing goes to 340 mm total depth, cut in stages. Walls are cut to 300 mm deep. Core holes run 20 to 300 mm in diameter and typically to 400 mm deep, deeper with extension bits.
How fast can you be on site?
Ring the number and we will tell you when we can be there. Early starts and late finishes are normal.
Do you travel outside Timaru?
Yes. Timaru is the base and we work across South Canterbury, Mid Canterbury, North Otago and the Mackenzie. Twizel is about two and a half hours away.
