Floor and slab sawing is cutting concrete that has already gone hard: expansion cuts, rebates, straightening a boxing blow out, a slot out of a factory floor so a drain can go in, and deep cuts through slabs and hardstands.

Deep cutting is done in stages. A pass is 30 to 100 mm. We start with smaller saws and blades and step up to larger blades on larger saws, to 340 mm total depth. Indoors, the dust is extracted at the blade.

How we do it

The sequence on a normal job.

  • Set out first, from your plans or marked on the ground with you, so nobody is arguing about a line after it has been cut.
  • Extract the dust at the blade on a dry cut.
  • Vacuum the slurry and take it away when we cut wet.
  • Leave the site clean.

How deep can you cut a floor?

To 340 mm total depth, cut in stages. Give us the slab thickness when you ring.

Can you cut indoors?

Yes. The dust is extracted at the blade, and we vacuum the slurry and leave the site clean.

Do you cut expansion joints?

Yes. Expansion cuts and rebates in hardened slabs are everyday floor sawing. Joints cut into fresh concrete on the day of the pour are soft cutting, which has its own page.

Do you clean up afterwards?

Yes. Slurry is vacuumed and taken away, dry dust is extracted at the blade, and we leave the site clean.
