Concrete cutting in Timaru
Timaru is our base, so most weeks the saw does not leave the district. If your crew has stopped in town, the drive to you is measured in minutes, not hours.
What we have done in Timaru
Every line below is a job we posted about at the time. If it is not on this list, we have not claimed it.
-
Extended a slot drain network through a live factory floor: cut and lifted the slab, dug and formed the drains, and built the slot to suit the client's grating while the factory kept running.
-
Cored a run of holes through a supermarket floor to reach the data cable ducts underneath, marked out and drilled pair by pair.
-
Cut a new doorway out of an interior concrete wall in an occupied building, sheeted off, cleaned up and finished in one visit.
-
Cut channels through a small factory floor to relay drain work, and drilled out existing sumps to take new drainage pipes.
-
Cut expansion joints and driveway aprons for local concreting crews, including work poured by Nick Bruce Concrete and Brown Bros Concrete.
-
Taken potholes out of commercial and residential driveways and yards with the road saw rather than patching over them.
-
Cut house slabs around town, including one on Jellicoe Street, and set out 20 mm decorative cuts that turn a plain pad into a tiled look.
-
Helped Grantlea Downs School get its sensory path underway, with the kids lending a hand.
The three we do most in Timaru
In town the phone mostly rings for three things: a slab that needs cutting, a hole that needs coring, and a bit of road or yard that has to come out today.
Floor and slab sawing
Expansion cuts, early entry soft cutting and full depth slab cuts. Indoors with extraction, outdoors in one visit.
What we do
Road sawing
Trenches, service runs and pothole removal in road and yard slabs. Cuts to 340 mm in one pass.
What we do
Core drilling
Holes from 20 to 350 mm through reinforced walls, floors, brick and block. Extension bits when it has to go deeper.

Working in Timaru
How quickly can you get to a job in Timaru?
We are based in Timaru, so getting to you is minutes rather than hours. What decides it is what is already booked, and we will tell you that straight away instead of stringing you along. Most of our calls are from a crew that has stopped, so we work early and late to fit them in.
Is there a minimum job size?
No job is too small. Small jobs are how most of our long-running clients started, and we would rather come and do the one hole than tell you to find someone else. Travel and set out are the same whether the cut is one metre or fifty, so a small job is priced accordingly.
Do you work after hours or at night?
Yes. Night and weekend work is normal for us, particularly on commercial sites that cannot stop during the day. Our line is 5am or 5pm, whichever end of the day the job needs.
Do you cut indoors without filling the building with dust?
Yes. Our saws are electric and high frequency, so there are no petrol fumes indoors, and we run dust extraction at the blade or cut wet with a slurry vac. That is the difference between a job you can work around and one that shuts the room down.
