How it works

How the estimate works

You describe the job. What kind of cut, roughly how much of it, and the nearest town. A rough number is enough, and the form tells you which measurement it wants.
The figure comes back here. Worked out on the current rates, with the lines that make it up underneath, plus GST.
We confirm it and book it. Your estimate is on file with the measurements behind it. Text a photo of the slab and the access to the number and it lands with your job.

What moves the number

So the estimate is not a surprise, here is what the figure reacts to. None of it is hidden and none of it appears later as an extra you did not agree to.

Depth: A path is not a foundation. The deeper the cut, the slower the pass and the harder the blade works, so depth moves the figure further than length does.
Access: Whether we can get the gear to the work. Through a garage and down a set of steps is a different job to straight off the truck, and it is worth telling us up front.
Reinforcing: Steel in the slab slows a cut down and wears a blade out. It is normal and we plan for it, but a heavily reinforced slab is not the same job as a plain one.
Where it is: Travel is on the job, so the town you pick changes the figure. Pick the nearest one on the list, and if you are outside it we confirm the travel when we call.

Breaking out and carting away, labour by the hour, gear hire, quoted work, floor cuts past 250 mm and core holes over 300 mm are priced on the hours or on a look at the site. A form would only guess at them, so we do not let it.

Is that the real price?

It is a real estimate, worked out on the same rates the invoice uses, off the measurements you gave us. The range is there because a slab can hold a surprise. We confirm the figure once we have seen the job, and if something changes you hear it from us before we cut, not afterwards on a bill.

Is my job too small?

No. No job too big or too small, and the rule has not changed: do the small ones and the big ones come. A single doorway or four core holes is a normal booking.

Why does it want my number before it shows me anything?

Because an estimate is the start of a job, not a browsing tool. Your figure goes on file with the measurements behind it, so when you ring, we already know what you are talking about.

Yes, and it helps. Text them to 027 966 9505 once you have your figure and they land with your job. A photo of the slab, the access and where the cut goes usually answers more than a paragraph does.
